iSWAY in the heat of implementation

Buildings designed for cultural events, concerts, film and theatre festivals have to meet specific fire protection requirements. The “Chatka Żaka” building, formerly known as “Dom Usługowy Studenta” (Student Service House), is one of the most interesting objects built in the post-war years in Poland. In order to modernize its structure and meet the fire protection and ventilation requirements, the building was equipped with a set of iSWAY products. SMAY provided the iSWAY-FC system for pressure differentiation in smoke and heat control systems, consisting of the iSWAY-FC-2.31 (2 sets) and iSWAY-FC-2.39 (1 set) devices, as well as the TSS-3 control signal board. The system covers three independent staircases. The positive-pressure control system for vertical escape routes was designed according to PN-EN 12101:6. The C class system principles were implemented.

Thanks to our solutions the building is a safe place for cultural and intellectual meetings for the academic community. The installed systems will prevent smoke accumulation in the escape routes and extract smoke from the horizontal escape routes, which is particularly important in case of public buildings.

Health above all – Independent Public Hospital of John of God in Lublin

A set of iSWAY-FC differential pressure products for smoke and heat control systems keeps watch over the hospital patients. This set consists of the iSWAY-FC-1.24 (1 set) and iSWAY-FC-D-1.20 (2 sets) devices, as well as the TSS-3 control signal board. The system covers two independent staircases. The positive-pressure control system for vertical escape routes was designed according to PN-EN 12101:6; the E class system principles were implemented.

The system was commissioned and calibrated by SMAY representatives.

A bridge between sports and safety – a stadium in Stalowa Wola

Sport facilities must guarantee safety of a very high number of spectators. The smallest mistake during evacuation may end in a great tragedy. Therefore it is necessary to provide such objects with adequate smoke ventilation systems. Thanks to the iSWAY-FC® products the stadium in Stalowa Wola will provide safety for as many as 10 thousand spectators. A set of iSWAY-FC® differential pressure products for smoke and heat control systems consists of one iSWAY-FC-2.39 device and the TSS-1 control signal board. The system covers one staircase. The positive-pressure control system for vertical escape routes was designed according to PN-EN 12101:6; the C class system principles were implemented.

“Jaskółka” Sports and Performance Hall in Tarnów

The famous sports hall that has hosted some of the most interesting athletic competitions since the 1980s is currently undergoing a reconstruction. SMAY fitted the object with a smoke protection system ensuring the safety of people and property in case of fire. The order made by HUP-BUD Sp. z o.o. and supplied by SMAY to the “Jaskółka” sports hall encompasses a set of iSWAY-FC® differential pressure products for smoke and heat control systems, consisting of two iSWAY-FC® devices and the TSS-2 control signal board. The system covers two elevator shafts. The system was commissioned and calibrated by SMAY representatives. The smoke control will ensure effective evacuation and rescue efforts.

The “Ikar” students’ hotel of the Military University of Aviation of Dęblin, building No. 26 – A+ safety

SMAY also offers fire ventilation solutions for residential buildings. Students’ hotels, hotels and pensions require accurate pressure control in order to limit propagation of impurities. Our experienced specialists installed the iSWAY-FC® differential pressure device for smoke and heat control in the building No. 26 of the “Ikar” boarding house in Dęblin. The system covers the staircase, providing positive pressure protection against smoke accumulation in the escape routes in case of fire.

The system was designed according to PN-EN 12101:6; the C class system principles were implemented.
