LABORATORY AIR MANAGEMENT FACULTY OF CIVIL ENGINEERING AND CONSTRUCTION OF THE TECHNICAL UNIVERSITY OF OPOLE

Opole

Education and lecturing facility with a research section with three specialised laboratories where clean air matters. The ventilation design for laboratory rooms and fume hoods required a thorough and in-depth analysis of all processes to be carried out in the rooms that may impact the proper operation of the ventilation system.
Reduced cost of energy consumption while complying with safety and air exchange comfort criteria. In comparison to office buildings, laboratories use from 5 up to 20 times more energy per square metre, which is why the choice of the ventilation system is largely driven by its operating costs, including the cost of energy consumption. Our SMAYLAB® ventilation system comprises fume hoods with smooth air flow speed adjustment on the hood window, and household ventilation to make up for the extracted air on the basis of actual sensor readings. A special controller designed for laboratory applications is the core of the system and is responsible for all logical operations required to control the adjustment process. The system minimises the effects of uncontrolled pressure systems in the rooms, even if any of the equipment items fails. The project also involved the start-up and flow measurements to ensure high regulation precision, maximum safety of the users and reliable operation of the entire system.
