In the case of high-rise buildings and skyscrapers, observation of the market and experience of the last few years show that apart from widely used mechanical solutions using pressure relief dampers, it is reasonable (and sometimes necessary) to use active systems that allow a more precise selection of the fire ventilation system’s operating parameters.
Compensation of unfavourable external air temperature change as well as wind speed and directions should be taken into account in the system design. SAFETY WAY® system is an all-purpose solution that can be implemented in any building regardless of local technical considerations.

Since the building is tall, it requires a reliable solution that creates a directed and controlled air flow in the stairwell space. In case of fire SAFETY WAY® quickly and effectively extracts smoke from escape routes. Positive pressure is maintained by three iSWAY-FC air supply units (two reversible, one supply only). Air is supplied to the stairwell through a fire-resistant duct. One reversible fan unit is placed on the building’s roof, with a single-point air supply to the upper section of the stairwell. An additional unit is roof-mounted and supplies air to the central part of the stairwell through the service shaft. Appropriate ventilation air stream and comfort parameters in the room are ensured by air terminal units, also included in SMAY’s commercial offering.
