SMAY Selektor update: Revit 2024, 2025 and 2026 compatibility and new improvements

We have updated SMAY Selektor — a free plug-in and standalone application for selecting, comparing and loading SMAY product RFA families directly into the Revit environment.
The latest version introduces compatibility with Revit 2024, 2025 and 2026, along with several important improvements designed to enhance BIM workflow efficiency and everyday usability.

What’s new in the latest version?

Compatibility with Revit 2024, 2025 and 2026
Selektor now supports the three latest versions of Revit. This is an important update for designers working in current Autodesk environments. Previously, the need to use older software versions limited access to some Selektor functionalities.

Optimized RFA Families
We optimized product families in terms of file size and performance within BIM models. Smaller files mean faster loading, reduced Revit project load and smoother operation — especially noticeable in large-scale models containing numerous installation components.

Two family types are available:
advanced — with complete technical data,
simplified — optimized for large BIM models.

Improved Selection Workflow
We optimized the application workflow, making the process from product category selection to loading the RFA family into the project faster and more intuitive.

New “Data” Feature
The new “Data” button located at the bottom of the interface opens the folder containing previously downloaded RFA families directly from the application — without leaving the tool or manually searching through disk directories. A small improvement that saves time during everyday work.

What is SMAY Selektor?

SMAY Selektor is a tool designed for HVAC and fire protection designers working in BIM technology. It works in two ways:
  • as a Revit plug-in — enabling direct loading of families into the project,
  • as a standalone application — for browsing products and downloading RFA families.
The application includes the complete SMAY product range divided into categories such as air supply units, smoke dampers, fans, air diffusers, fire dampers, silencers, intake and exhaust units, dampers, ventilation grilles and airflow controllers. Each model includes a detailed description and complete technical parameters.

Key functionalities

  • filtering by technical parameters such as dimensions, materials, pressure and fire classification,
  • product comparison — comparing several product variants from the same category in a parameter table,
  • favourites — saving frequently used families for quick access,
  • three operating modes:
    • DOWNLOAD (to disk),
    • LOAD (into the Revit project),
    • USE (directly in the model).
Selektor is free of charge, requires no registration and is available in Polish and English.

Who should update?

If you are already using Selektor — install the latest version to work with Revit 2024, 2025 and 2026 and take advantage of optimized families and the new “Data” feature.

select a model → filter and compare → download / load / use in the project.
