Damper production
As a large manufacturer of ventilation accessories, we have a range of modern machinery to produce high-quality comfort and fire ventilation systems. Our dampers can be made of galvanised steel, stainless steel and steel painted to any RAL colour.
Damper blade control
Depending on their function, dampers can have different operating mechanisms. Fire dampers for ventilation systems have a spring mechanism activated by a fusible link or spring-return actuator with a thermal fuse. When activated, the operating mechanism closes the damper and shuts off the respective fire zone.
Smoke control dampers are equipped with BELIMO two-way actuator that opens or closes the damper blade when it receives a signal from the fire alarm system. The dampers maintain an open or closed state regardless of temperature, depending on the activated scenario.
Technical specifications
SMAY dampers have a wide range of fire classification ratings, ensuring fire integrity, insulation, and smoke tightness for 120 minutes in different installation configurations. Thanks to their high level of tightness, SMAY fire dampers improve the performance of the ventilation system and reduce energy consumption.
Damper dimensions and installation
Our customers can choose from a wide range of damper sizes:
- rectangular dampers – from 160×200 mm to 1500×1000 mm, and
- circular dampers – from ∅100 mm to ∅630 mm.
We offer a wide range of mounting fittings for the dampers. These components include mounting clamps, bolts with nuts, fasteners and seals for the installation of multi-section dampers. You can find more information about the installation here.
We also offer additional accessories, e.g., joint seals, damper covers, or a 19×19×1.4-mm mesh to protect the duct.
Certification and legal requirements
Fire dampers are designed, manufactured, and tested in accordance with the following standards: EN 15650 “Ventilation for buildings. Fire dampers” and EN 13501-3 “Smoke and heat control systems – Part 3: Classification using data from fire resistance tests on products and elements used in building service installations: fire resisting ducts and fire dampers”.
Smoke control dampers are designed, manufactured and tested in accordance with the following standards: EN 12101-8 “Smoke and heat control systems – Part 8: Smoke control dampers” and EN 13501-4 “Fire classification of construction products and building elements – Part 4: Classification using data from fire resistance tests on components of smoke control systems”.
SMAY products have the required hygienic certificates, other certificates, and the National Technical Assessment for batteries of dampers. The Assessment was issued by the Building Research Institute. SMAY fire dampers have been repeatedly tested by leading testing bodies: CNBOP, FIRES, ITB and CTO.
KWP-O-EX dampers with the ATEX certificate can be used in fire protection systems operating in hazardous areas (EX zone). They have been tested and meet the classifications for group II of category 2, in accordance with EN ISO 80079-36:2016 and EN ISO 80079-37:2016, which means that they are suitable for use in zones 1 and 2, as well as in 21 and 22.
