In January 2021, the Piotr Maj Memorial Maj Family Foundation will officially begin to operate. The goal of the Foundation is to bring comfort, hope and material aid to people who have suffered from fires, who are not adapted to life, are homeless or affected by disability or poverty.

The business profile of SMAY is fire ventilation. Such solutions facilitate evacuation from fire-endangered places, saving lives and property. Knowing that fire can cause great threat and suffering, we have established a Foundation. Its goal is to bring help and educate children and adolescents in the field of fire training. By bringing the Foundation to life, it is not the first time that we are addressing the victims of fires and emergency services workers who need special equipment for firefighting.

From the beginning of its activity, SMAY has not remained indifferent to people seeking help, the sick, the homeless and the forgotten. For many years the owners and the board have supported the activities of the Dzieło Pomocy Ojca Pio organization (St. Padre Pio Foundation), which helps the hungry, poor and homeless. The company has also funded a wide variety of philanthropic initiatives.

The Foundation is named after Piotr Maj who worked hard to the benefit of the needy for many years. Piotr Maj was a kind man with an exceptionally generous heart, open to the needs of his surroundings. He was one of those people who would rather give than take, listen than be listened to and help rather than ask for it.

The Maj Family Foundation will implement its goals through activities such as:

• Providing financial aid to people in need, also by providing everyday use, rehabilitation, ventilation, rescue and firefighting as well as medical equipment;
• Supporting the activities of other people and institutions whose goals are in line with the goals of the Foundation, including the St. Padre Pio Foundation;
• Running a solidarity fund, the funds from which will be used to support employees of SMAY Sp. z o.o. and their families affected by random events;
• Organizing training courses and competitions for children and adolescents aimed at promoting knowledge on fire hazards as well as safe and responsible behaviour in the event of a fire.
