A magnetic retention and safety cable system. No screws, no tools — one single motion.
Stable blade positions maintain system parameters regardless of the selected setting.
No protruding elements. Seamless joins in continuous line installations.
Many conventional linear slot diffusers require compromises — between appearance and performance, or between ease of installation and precision of adjustment. The NSH linear slot diffuser from SMAY eliminates these constraints by combining aesthetics, stable performance parameters, and straightforward operation, whilst also allowing the ventilation system to be readily adapted to changes in space layout.

The NSH has been designed so that the differences are apparent not only in the technical specification, but above all in the day-to-day work of the design engineer, the installer, and the end user.
The NSH is secured to the plenum box by a magnetic fixing system. Insert the diffuser into the aperture and the magnets automatically locate and stabilise it. The safety cable simplifies installation and allows quick access to the interior without full removal — for example, during ventilation system servicing.
Installation and system integration encompasses: installation in suspended ceilings (e.g. plasterboard), continuous line configurations, rapid service access, and compatibility with mechanical ventilation systems.
| Area | Conventional linear slot diffusers | NSH linear slot diffuser by SMAY |
|---|---|---|
| Face-to-plenum fixing | Screws, Allen keys, tools required | Magnetic system, single motion, tool-free |
| Blade adjustment | Continuous, no defined positions — installer-dependent | 5 stable positions with snap-lock mechanism |
| Removal for cleaning | Unscrewing required | Click-in |
| Interior access | Full removal required | Safety cable, no removal required |
| Continuous line joining | Visible gaps between elements | SK/WN elements frameless at joining edge — seamless line |

The geometry of the NSH allows full exploitation of the Coanda effect — the air jet adheres to the ceiling in cooling mode and operates vertically in heating mode.Consistent flow resistance simplifies diffuser selection, and the design accommodates 1 to 4 slots whilst maintaining performance parameters.
The flush face, absence of visible hardware, and the ability to form continuous lines make the NSH suitable for even the most demanding interior environments.
The front panel is supplied as standard in white (RAL 9010) or black (RAL 9005), with black blades.
Contemporary buildings adapt their use depending on season and occupancy requirements (e.g. open-plan → zoned layout).
The NSH blades allow the supply air direction to be adjusted quickly and without tools to suit current conditions, using 5 stable positions: horizontal, angled, vertical, right, and left.
The diffuser design provides repeatable, unambiguous positioning with an audible and tactile click at each blade setting.
• One diffuser for both heating and cooling applications

The NSH is suitable for both new-build and refurbishment projects, particularly where aesthetics, performance, and rapid installation are priorities.
| Building type | Why specify the NSH? |
|---|---|
| Hotels | Rapid installation, straightforward in-service maintenance, aesthetics important to guests — flush face with no visible screws |
| Grade A office buildings | Fast installation particularly important on projects with a high volume of supply air terminals; blade setting adjustable without tools when reconfiguring space; single product for heating and cooling |
| Premium residential / apartments | Uncompromised design, flush face suited to contemporary interiors, front panel in RAL colours on request |
| Healthcare facilities | Hygiene certificate, easy access for cleaning via safety cables |
| Refurbishments and fit-outs | Installation without invasive works, no requirement for new apertures, replacement of conventional diffusers with a product offering a higher aesthetic and aerodynamic standard |
No. The diffuser is secured to the plenum box by a magnetic fixing system — no screws, no keys.
The blade has 5 stable positions set manually, without tools. The snap-lock mechanism provides unambiguous, repeatable engagement at each position.
The NSH geometry has been optimised to maintain near-consistent pressure drop across different blade settings.
Yes. A single hand movement — no tools required. The safety cable also allows access to the interior of the diffuser without full removal.
Yes. The optimised diffuser geometry delivers a stable, horizontal air jet in cooling mode and a vertical supply in heating mode — in a single product.
From 300 mm to 1,500 mm, in any dimension within that range. For longer installations: continuous line configurations using SK (end) and WN (intermediate) elements with no visible gaps between units.
Yes: KOT, National Declaration of Performance 103-B-2025, hygiene certificate B.BK.60112.0015.2026.

The NSH diffuser is available in any length from 300 to 1500 mm. The face panel width ranges from 59 mm (1 slot) to 179 mm (4 slots). The standard plenum box height is 270 mm. Detailed dimensions for each configuration are given in the product datasheet.
The face panel and blades are made of powder-coated aluminium. As standard, the face panel is white (RAL 9010) or black (RAL 9005); the blades are always black (RAL 9005). The plenum box is made of galvanised sheet steel.
Yes. The face panel can be ordered in any colour from the RAL range. In each case this must be agreed with a SMAY sales representative and may extend the lead time.
The price of the NSH depends on several factors: the number of slots (1–4), the diffuser length (300–1500 mm), the installation type (standalone, end element [SK] or intermediate element [WN] for continuous runs), the colour choice (standard RAL 9010/9005 or a made-to-order RAL colour), insulation of the plenum box, and an optional control damper in the connection spigot. A request for quotation can be submitted through a distributor or directly via the contact form at smay.pl.
The NSH diffuser is mounted to a dedicated SMAY plenum box using a magnetic fixing. The plenum box is available insulated or uninsulated, with one or two connection spigots. A control damper can be fitted in the spigot, in one of five adjustment options (external, cable or lever).
The airflow (qv), acoustic (Lw) and pressure drop (ΔP) data are available exclusively in the online selection software at nawiewniki.smay.pl. The datasheet contains the dimensions and ordering configuration — the selection parameters require use of the calculator.
