SMAY protects buildings against smoke — our project

We ensured that the SQ Business Center had proper ventilation and fire protection. It required vast expertise and specific experience. Our goal was to provide protection against smoke and to protect employees of the office building in case of fire.

The Safety Way differential pressure system installed in the SQ Business Center uses positive pressure in such protected areas as the staircase, entrance hall and lifts. The system ensures that the products of combustion (i.e. smoke and gases) stay out of the designated safe evacuation zones. Preventing smoke and hot fire gases from penetrating such tall buildings as the SQ Business Center keeps them free from smoke, facilitates evacuation from high-risk places and enables efficient firefighting.

The Safety Way system includes four iSway® devices. Primary and backup systems, a set of dampers and fire grilles were installed in the staircase. The hallways were equipped with smoke exhaust fans ensuring appropriate air flow speed. Aside from that, a set of smoke exhaust dampers was installed in the halls. The garage carbon monoxide detection system detects dangerous gas leaks. Additionally, warning signs and two jet fans were installed in the building. The use of this differential pressure system ensures that the escape routes remain safe in case of fire.
