KWZ-L fire damper

The KWZ-L fire dampers are made for mounting in ventilation systems as isolating barriers, separating the fire-engulfed zone from the remaining part of the building. It has up to 4-hour fire resistance EI240(ve i<->o)S, which means that in the event of a fire, the damper will provide tightness, insulation and fire resistance to other parts of the building for at least 240 minutes. Our fire dampers have been thoroughly tested by a team of external experts, and its high reliability, resistance, tightness and effectiveness are confirmed by a certificate of compliance with the following standards: PN-EN 15650, PN-EN 13501-3, PN-EN 1366-2 and PN-EN 1751.

The fire damper has a single blade structure and a large effective surface. It can be installed in rigid walls starting from a thickness of 150 mm. It is equipped with a high-end electric actuator with spring return from Belimo, which ensures that the closing and opening of the damper is always reliable and precise. And thanks to a full range of dimensions (from 200 mm x 200 mm to 1000 mm x 1000 mm), the damper can be flexibly adjusted to the appropriate places in the project.

This is the only EI240S rated single blade fire damper manufactured in Poland. Investors and contractors can count on a quick product delivery time. The KWZ-L fire damper is covered by full service support from the manufacturer.

The KWZ-L type fire damper is designed for installation in ventilation systems at the point where the ventilation system passes through a building partition. It acts as a partition separating the fire zone from the rest of the building. That is why the basic function of the KWZ-L fire damper is to stop the spread of fire, temperature and smoke. During normal installation, the cut-off blade of the KWZ-L fire damper is in the open position. In the event of a fire, the damper blade moves to the closed position.

The fire damper consists of two housing parts made of galvanized metal sheet with insulating separators made of 40 mm thick fire-rated material.

There is a single blade inside the damper. Its movement in the closed position is limited by a retaining bar. The axes of the blade interoperate with the slide bearings embedded in the insulating separators. The system of rods is used for closing the blade. The permissible air flow speed in the BxH connection duct for the KWZ-L fire damper is 12 m/s.

Only variant of this type of damper is the KWZ-L-E fire damper. It is a fire damper for ventilation ducts (normally open), with a return spring actuator, offering a safety function and a comfort function.

The KWZ-L fire dampers are driven by BFL, BFN or BF electric actuators, manufactured by BELIMO (supply voltage 24 V AC/DC or 230 V AC). Once the power is supplied to the actuator, the damper opens. Automatic closing of the fire damper is a result of the activation of the BAT72 type thermal switch. Remote closure of the KWZ-L-E fire damper is carried out by turning off the power supply (when a voltage loss occurs, the return spring in the actuator closes the blade by returning to the non-stressed position).

Note: The use of the BFL actuators is limited to dampers with a surface area of to 0.25 m², and the BFN actuators is limited to dampers with a surface area below 0.75 m².
